North East Movies
Working with Funkigroup to create a video portal for Northern Film and Media. I worked on the initial brief, created the look and feel for the website, developed this with input from NFM.
The original brief was to create a bluetooth booth that NFM could setup at events and "broadcast" films to attendees. This was debated and found to be less useful than initially thought. The meetings progressed and the idea of a youtube style website for north east film makers would be beneficial for NFM and for its film makers.
At the time web 2.0 was taking off and many of the design cues came from that ilk, rounded buttons, lozenge shapes, crisp colours and fades.
I worked closely with the development team to provide the appropriate graphics in correct formats. I also created the flash video player, ready for the development team to add their code to.
The site also offers downloads in MP4 format for iPod, iPhone, Sony PSP and download for mobile phones. It also offers blogs for industry insiders and a small social network for users.
